Georgia Constitution of 1777
& The Articles of Confederation
The Georgia Constitution and the Articles of Confederation had many strengths and weaknesses. Let's start with weaknesses. Though it had many weaknesses, the constitution stayed for 12 years. The legislative body has more power than the other branches which could cause a unstable government. The constitution also had a unicameral legislature. The articles of Confederation had a very weak central government. The central government can not do many things: It couldn't enforce laws, and it needed approval from all 13 states before it could approve any new regulations. On the other hand they both had a lot of strengths too. The Georgia Constitution is still used in both the United state's and Georgia's government. The King of England used to make 100% of the rules and the colonists were looking forward to making their own decisions in Georgia. It was the Articles of Confederation that kept the state together before the constitution was made. The Articles also told that each state give (full faith and credit) to the legal acts of other states.
